We love all of our clients, and we are excited for every wedding, but as has happened several times over the years, we found ourselves shooting the wedding of a long-time friend, putting added pressure and excitement on things! When we got the call from my friend Robert, someone I had met some ten years earlier in the Phoenix-area punk music scene, it was awesome. When we found out it was going to be a Hindu Gujarati Wedding, we about lost our minds with excitement! There is NOTHING more exciting than a Hindu Wedding; not hang-gliding, base-jumping, parachuting (none of which we would EVER do), nothing.
As the weeks went by and the wedding drew closer, we were just giddy with excitement. Helping with our excitement was that we had just attended our second Foundation/Fearless Conference in Scottsdale a few days prior, so we went in with some incredible new tools thanks to the amazing presenters and friends that inspired us over the three day conference for wedding photographers. If you are a photographer and have a chance, do go; it’s life changing!
We spent 10 hours on our feet, having only about 10 minutes to sit down during dinner service, and, as you will see in the photos, it was worth every second of it. Not only were the bride, groom and the family members dressed in amazing, beautiful garments, but they were so incredibly kind, polite, giving and warm the entire day. On top of that, the brilliant staff at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort, lead by [Catering Sales Manager] Sandra Bohn, were exceptional in every way. They were so accommodating, kind and giving that the day couldn’t have gone better for us as vendors, and from what we saw, for the bride and groom; so a huge shout out to you and your team, Sandra!
We want to give a warm thank you and congratulations to Robert and Nirali, your wedding was amazing and we are so glad you asked us to be there to document and share in the experience. Best wishes to you both!
XOXO – Jo+Jason
