This wedding was a special treat. Not only were we hired without ever having so much as a phone conversation with the bride and groom (normally several phone calls and an in person meeting take place), but we only exchanged an email or two before we were hired. The bride found us after looking through “at least 200 other photographers” as she told us, and knew we were perfect right away. We love clients that love photography, know what the want, and go get it! We were, of course, flattered, and were very excited to work with such a daring and fun couple at such an incredible location as Hotel Valley Ho in the heart of downtown Scottsdale, Arizona.
We were even more excited as Lezli shared details of the big day with us over the months leading up to the wedding. Multiple trips to New York City to visit the incredible Carol Hannah (of Project Runway fame) for a couture wedding gown. Custom jewelry made by the talented bride herself. Non-traditional reception. The incorporation of several spiritual and religious aspects into the ceremony. A fantastic rock band (Rig) as the entertainment (with an open-mic session to boot). It all came together as a fantastic evening, and to top it all off….those shoes (shoe-porn warning for image below). After seeing the shoes, Jason was moved to proclaim “The Devil may wear Prada, but angels wear Valentino.” Overall, it was just a spectacular affair.
We’ll let the lovely bride, Lezli, sum the rest of it up for you! We hope you all enjoy the images as much as we enjoyed being there to make them!
XOXO,

“Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be: beautiful, fun, relaxed, quirky and real. We searched far and wide for photographers who would get our playful vibe and be able to capture the energy of the event and of our family. Jason and Joanne fit right in. Even in the most intimate moments, it never felt like there were strangers in the room. That meant everything to me, to feel free to be my authentic self. Also, our teenage daughter thought it was cool that we got The Rock to shoot our wedding. Rock star chic, indeed!”
