Why boudoir photography?

Sometimes we find it hard to put into words why we shoot boudoir photography. To us, it’s so much more than just photographs. It’s about self-acceptance, body positivity, and art. It’s about getting glammed up and having a great time. It’s about the transformation that takes place from the time you enter our studio and when you walk back out the door. It’s about feeling beautiful, and that is something we believe every person deserves.

We started photographing boudoir photography because we saw how important it was to women to experience boudoir as a way to celebrate, and even heal. We believed we could help any person what we see through our camera. Women tell us they feel they can’t look “this beautiful” because they feel too tall, or don’t have a “sample size” body, or have stretch marks. We love showing them photos from their shoot, and showing that they can, in fact, feel beautiful no matter what.

It’s now our job to be a mirror for our clients. Not the mirror the world shows them, but the one that sees past all of “flaws” and “imperfections,” and shows your true beauty.

The Transformation

The transformation that takes place in our studio is magical. When a woman arrives to the studio most of the time she’s nervous. Once they sit in the makeup chair, the transformation begins. Our clients slowly start to shed the signs of nervousness and start to embrace the process.

When the shoot starts, the first few photographs we take are just to warm you up and get your in the proper head-space for the rest of the shoot. We may show the back of the camera so you can see how amazing you look, and we always hear “wow!” Eventually the smiles and laughter come to the surface, the sexy gets dialed up, and things start to click.

By the time we finish the shoot and go into your design consult, you feel like you’re with old friends. We’ve just shared an awesome experience together, and the fun of that is powerful.

Once you see your photos on our giant projector, you’ll gasp in amazement as you’ve never seen yourself like this before. This is the power of boudoir; we get a chance to show you how we see you, how your partner sees you, and really be the mirror to your true self. When you walk out of the door smiling, we know you won’t be able to wait to tell your friends all about your experience.

Boudoir Photography is something all of us women should experience. It’s more than just beautiful photos, it’s about showing ourselves that every woman is beautiful and amazing in our own way. We all come in different shapes, sizes and personalities and we need to love and embrace that. We need to be proud of the accomplishments that we have achieved and the hardships that we have overcome. We are all beautiful and we all deserve to celebrate it. Let’s do this together!
